Editorial policy

Rancho Santa Fe Living writes about a place, not a pipeline. Our pieces explain how things work: how a protective covenant governs design, how months of inventory is computed, how Proposition 13 shapes ownership, how a bridle trail network is maintained. We prefer mechanisms to market calls, description to prediction, and named processes to anonymous authority.

Sourcing. We favor primary and durable material: recorded documents, public agency publications, and established architectural and regional histories. Where a claim rests on general knowledge rather than a document, we write it as understanding rather than as statistic. We do not publish listing inventories, asking or closing prices, market forecasts, or any figure we cannot stand behind, and we avoid numbers whose meaning decays before the ink dries.

Independence and labeling. Editorial coverage is decided by the editors alone. Sponsored placements, if and when they appear, are labeled in plain language on the page itself and governed by our sponsored content policy. Our pages carry no invented staff, no fabricated testimonials and no borrowed expertise.

Corrections. Errors of fact are corrected in the piece where they appeared, with the correction noted. Readers can reach the editors through the contact page, and every message about a factual claim is checked against the underlying source before we act on it. What this static site collects, and does not collect, is stated plainly in our privacy policy.
