Reading the spec sheet

Above a certain price almost every Covenant listing promises imported Italian marble, and almost none of them say which stone it is or how it was finished. Those two omissions matter more than the adjective. Carrara, Calacatta, travertine and a hard granite behave differently under a west-facing window, around a pool deck and under the citrus acid of an outdoor kitchen, and the surface finish alone decides whether a terrace stays walkable when wet. A buyer who has read how Italian quarries grade marble, granite and travertine asks sharper questions at the second showing than a buyer who has read the brochure.
